Château Clare is located in a nature setting, a clearing where pine trees protect the vineyard from the wind that comes from the Atlantic Ocean. In 1733, the Carreyre family, winemaker from father to son, purchased the vineyard. The name Clare comes from an ancestor of the owner who loved Claire. Since 1991, Thierry develops the vineyard, from 9 to 17 hectares. Vines spread on gravels, some of them are very deep (8 to 10 meters). Gravels are very filtering, giving water to the vines regularly.
