For more than 10 years, the Bordeaux Wine Route in Graves and Sauternes has been a perfect example of networking between players in the wine and tourism industries on a shared territory. Bringing together 130 professionals with the Vignobles & Découvertes label (90 castles, 40 accommodations, restaurants, heritage and tourism activities, wine merchants, wine house), it offers visitors a complete and varied stay offer throughout the Graves and Sauternes vineyards.
Just 20 minutes from the historic center of Bordeaux, the world capital of wine, on the left bank of the Garonne river and a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyards of Graves and Sauternes invite visitors to immerse themselves in wine-cultural inspiration. With its exceptional vineyards, its Crus Classés, the diversity of its architectural heritage, the richness of its terroir and its gastronomy, the Bordeaux Wine Route offers visitors the experience of an escape out of time and so many excuses to savor, without moderation, the art of living along the vineyards, along the Garonne and the Ciron rivers.
The Bordeaux Wine Route in Graves and Sauternes offers a complete and varied stay offer, reflecting the inventiveness of its winegrowers, always ready to rethink the codes to share their history, their culture, their gastronomy and their arts which, in Graves and Sauternes, rhymes with good wine. Pessac-Leognan, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac: so many names that come together on the same wine route, thus offering a unique alliance and the assurance of exceptional diversity around major brands in Red, Dry White and sweet wines.
The Bordeaux Wine Route has carried out major territorial projects in previous years with the deployment of Wine Route signage and the development of the Terres de Graves area. Pushing its vision for the region even further, the Bordeaux Wine Route is committed to a more environmentally friendly approach and is now focusing on the development of a low-carbon Wine Route: an ambitious project bringing together private and institutions in the territory. Its ambition is to offer complete stays that are eco-responsible and accessible by sustainable mobility, inviting visitors to travel through the Graves and Sauternes to discover its valleys, its people who love their land and its history.
The Bordeaux Wine Route in Graves and Sauternes is an association under the 1901 law bringing together three wine unions (ODG Pessac-Leognan, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac), as well as three communities of communes and their tourist offices (Montesquieu, Convergence Garonne, Sud Gironde). They finance the organization and form its board of directors. A tourism and communications manager leads coordination and communication actions on a daily basis.
