The harvest season has begun, the vines are gradually adorned with their warm colors, revealing incredible landscapes to admire for their visitors. It's the ideal time to prolong the summer by exploring the festive vineyards during the open weekends organized on the 3 appellations of the Bordeaux Wine Route in Graves and Sauternes. The opportunity to leave with the beautiful bottle to place at the foot of the tree, the essential souvenir photo of the emblematic Bordeaux castle and the anecdote of a meeting with a passionate winemaker.
After the start of the school year, it's time to take a breather and enjoy the Indian summer in this territory with the Origins of the Great Wines of Bordeaux. So mark your calendar ! The Graves open the ball in a friendly atmosphere at the end of October, followed in November by the unique sweet wines of Sauternes & Barsac before the Pessac-Léognan offers a prestigious final bouquet in December.
This fall, head to the 3 open house weekends, just outside Bordeaux, just 2 hours from Paris by train.

With family or friends, in Graves we party!
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October 2019
From Langon to Bordeaux, between the Landes forest and the Garonne, the Graves territory extends its 3,500 hectares of vines. This open house weekend is an opportunity for novices, amateurs or wine enthusiasts to welcome autumn in the most beautiful way: through festive encounters in 67 Châteaux des Graves. We disconnect from the telephone and the worries of everyday life to let ourselves be tempted by the experience of country meals at the castle and other joyful tastings from local family properties. A single motto for the participants: to maintain the good-natured atmosphere typical of this territory at the Origins of the Great Wines of Bordeaux. The hospitality of the Graves estates has also made the reputation of these 2 days of open days where people flock with family and friends to enjoy tastings, introductions to the Wine School, activities for children ( treasure hunts, pony rides, etc.) and even airplane flights over the vineyard!

Weekend in Sauternes between precious wine and magical landscapes
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November 2019
“Liquid gold” finds its source in Sauternes, a magical parenthesis for any exploration of the vineyard with its hilly landscapes that look like a postcard from Bordeaux. The Grands Crus Classés rub shoulders and contemplate each other, offering an impressive density of heritage that can easily be visited by bike or on foot. The incomparable panorama of the surrounding vineyards outlines the idyllic setting for a weekend of tastings, visits, exhibitions, food trucks, jazz concerts... just 40 minutes from Bordeaux. We swap the hustle and bustle of the city for the refinement of a tasting of around fifty properties from the appellation, including Grands Crus Classés from Sauternes in 1855. And to add a twist to this great classic of French gastronomy, the pairings are made mischievous between sushi, cocktail version or dessert with dark chocolate... Enough to rediscover the best sweet wine in the world!

Luxury, calm and voluptuousness at the Sources de Caudalie in Pessac-Léognan
Les Sources de Caudalie, a cocoon of luxury and softness, invites you to escape just a few kilometers from the world capital of wine, on the Wine Route from Bordeaux to Graves and Sauternes. With 40 rooms and 21 suites marked by the strong personality of the region, this hotel is a true ode to relaxation and travel in a bucolic setting where the vineyard is the architect of the landscape. At La Table du Lavoir, the chef gives free rein to his imagination around the regional terroir in a recreated wash house. Not to be missed: the framework made of 18th century wood recovered from the Médoc cellars and the vast period fireplace, in which the meats roast and release their delicious smells.
